Pricing and quotes

How much does junk removal cost?
Charges are based mainly on volume — how much space your items take up in the truck — rather than on how long the job takes or what it weighs. We quote every job on the phone or on site rather than publishing a rate card, because a real number beats a range. Call 877-536-7941, describe roughly what you have and where it sits, and you will have a firm price in about two minutes. That number does not change once work starts.
Why do you not list prices on the website?
Because a published range is almost never the number you would actually pay. Two garage cleanouts on the same street can differ by a factor of three depending on how full they are, and a hot tub is priced on access rather than size. Quoting on the call takes two minutes and gives you a figure you can rely on, rather than one you have to caveat.
Is the estimate free?
Yes, and there is no obligation attached to it — over the phone or on site. If the price is not right for you, the crew leaves and there is no charge.
Do you charge by the hour?
No. Hourly pricing means a difficult job costs you more, and it means nobody can tell you the price before the work is done. We price on volume so the number is known up front.
Are there extra charges for stairs or long carries?
No. Stairs, walk-ups, basements, crawl spaces and hillside access are included. Getting to your items is our problem to solve, not a surcharge to pass on.
How do I pay?
Cash, all major credit and debit cards, and cheque for commercial accounts. Payment is on completion, not up front. Commercial clients can be set up with monthly invoicing and net terms.

What we take

What kinds of junk do you haul?
Household clutter, furniture, mattresses, appliances, electronics and e-waste, garage and attic contents, yard waste and brush, construction and remodeling debris, carpet and flooring, hot tubs and spas, scrap metal, exercise equipment, office furniture, retail fixtures, and full estate, foreclosure and storage-unit contents.
What will you not take?
Hazardous materials: wet paint, solvents, motor oil, pesticides, asbestos, medical waste and propane tanks. These are prohibited from ordinary transport and disposal. Every Bay Area county runs free household hazardous waste drop-off for residents and we will point you to the nearest one.
Can you take a refrigerator or freezer?
Yes. Refrigerant must be recovered by a certified technician before the unit can be scrapped, which is handled as part of the service. This is also why you cannot simply leave one at the kerb.
Can you take mattresses?
Yes. California prohibits landfilling mattresses and box springs as ordinary waste, so they go through the state mattress recycling program where the steel, foam, fibre and timber are recovered. We handle the routing.
What about televisions and electronics?
Yes — under the California Electronic Waste Recycling Act these must go to a certified recycler rather than a landfill. Screens are priced individually, with large CRT and rear-projection televisions higher than flat panels because of their weight and the cost of processing leaded glass. Smaller electronics are usually absorbed into a general load at no meaningful extra cost.
Do you do demolition?
Light demolition, yes: sheds, decks, fences, carports, interior non-structural walls, cabinets and tile. Anything structural, or anything requiring heavy equipment, is a licensed demolition contractor’s job and we will refer you rather than take it on.

Scheduling and service

Can you come today?
Often, yes. We run crews across the Bay Area daily and same-day service is frequently available if you call before mid-morning. Ring 877-536-7941 and we will tell you honestly what today looks like rather than booking you and rescheduling later.
Do I need to be there?
Not necessarily. If we have access and a clear list of what stays and what goes, many customers do a short walkthrough in the morning and come home to a finished job. We send photos on completion.
Do I need to move things to the kerb first?
No. Full-service means our crew goes wherever the items actually are — upstairs, in the back yard, in a crawl space, at the far end of the garage.
How much notice do you need?
Usually none for small jobs and 24–48 hours for larger ones. Estate cleanouts, commercial work and anything needing an after-hours crew are best booked a few days ahead so we can allocate the right team.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — full liability insurance, and every load goes to a permitted disposal facility. This matters more than it sounds: under California law, responsibility for illegally dumped waste can follow back to the property it came from.

Service areas and disposal

What areas do you serve?
We provide junk removal throughout most of the greater San Francisco Bay Area — currently 35 cities across 8 counties, including Alameda County, Contra Costa County, Marin County, Napa County, San Francisco County, San Mateo County, Santa Clara County, Solano County. Based in Marin County, we primarily cover the North Bay, San Francisco proper, the San Mateo Peninsula and the East Bay. We also reach surrounding areas case by case.
My city is not listed. Can you still help?
Very likely. The listed cities are where we work most often, not a hard boundary. Call 877-536-7941 and we will tell you in ten seconds whether we can reach you.
What happens to my junk after you take it?
We sort every load rather than driving straight to a landfill. Furniture and household goods in usable condition go to local charities, metal, e-waste and green waste go to the appropriate recyclers, and only the genuine remainder reaches a permitted transfer station in your county.
Can I get a donation receipt?
Yes — tell us before pickup and we will arrange it with the receiving charity where they issue them. This matters particularly for estate cleanouts, where the donation value affects the estate’s tax position.
